APIs are the backbone of modern software, but poor documentation turns them into a liability. Outdated, scattered, or unclear docs slow down adoption, overload support teams, and frustrate developers.
Bump.sh solves this by automating the workflow from API contract to developer portal. It keeps documentation in sync with your code, highlights breaking changes, and ensures every update is visible and actionable. Whether you’re using OpenAPI or AsyncAPI, Bump.sh integrates with your existing tools to deliver clear, up-to-date, and discoverable API documentation.
Christophe demonstrates a rare ability to quickly master complex technical subjects, distill them into a clear vision, and communicate that vision effectively to teams, leads, and clients. He is someone you can rely on.
Sébastien Charrier, CEO at Bump.sh
Yoan Gross, Product Manager at Bump.sh
When I joined Bump.sh in 2022, they had just raised a 4M€ seed round to unify API documentation for REST, event-driven, GraphQL, gRPC and SOAP APIs.
Throughout the 3 years from there, as in most start-ups this stage, we iterated a lot on our ICP, product positioning and messaging, together with our understanding of the API market, its needs and challenges.
As of 2025, we were targetting large companies publishing public developer portals including API docs, such as our customers MongoDB, Elastic, and Redpanda. At the same time, we were seeing growth for priavte API docs, through customers like Lightspeed Commerce, Motorola Solutions, or BigID.
Go-To-Market Strategy
- Defined ICP and experimented with growth channels: personalized outbound (Loom audits), content/SEO with OpenAPI experts, and community events.
- Signed enterprise customers like Elastic, MongoDB, Redpanda, Lightspeed Commerce, Motorola Solutions, and BigID.
- 6x organic traffic growth in one year through content, SEO, and partnerships.
Sales & Customer Onboarding
- Created a repeatable sales playbook (ICP, pitch, qualification, PoC, pricing, legal reviews).
- Designed a standardized onboarding process with clear milestones, deliverables, and shared ownership.
Team & Product
- Led a cross-functional team (support, content, developer advocacy, BDRs) and freelancers.
- Coached a junior PM and the engineering lead on product best practices (design, delivery, communication).
- Influenced the product roadmap with market insights
AI-driven opportunities:
- Analyzed market trends, emerging technologies (MCP), and customer needs to define strategic AI-based product enhancements and new features, and roadmap planning
- Leveraged AI tools for internal operations efficiency (highly personalized outbound, customer insights analysis and sales activities)
- Championed ethical and responsible use of AI.
- The Bump.sh content site, including product documentation, API design guides and tutorials, and the very first OpenAPI cheat sheet.
- The Bump.sh blog
- The MongoDB Atlas API doc
- The Redpanda API doc

Blackfire.io
Product designed, built, delivered and marketed from 2014 to 2022, while serving as Chief Product Officer, right-hand to Fabien Potencier (Symfony creator) in transitioning SensioLabs from an open-source agency to a SaaS editor, spinning off Blackfire.io (PHP observability platform), and leading it to acquisition by Platform.sh.

53% of users abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load, according to Google. But you can’t optimize what you can’t measure.
Blackfire gives developers all the tools they need to measure, understand and optimize how their code consumes server resources. From development, to testing pipeline and production, it provides actionable insights with a deep comprehension of the underlying technology, from a Magento shop to a Drupal, Django, WordPress, or vanilla Symfony site.
Christophe is a driven product director, who has a 360 view of his business. He has a lot of ownership and a great deal of experience that help him make informed recommendations on product roadmap priorities that can drive more revenue and customer satisfaction. He is also technical which is important for relevant communication with the engineering team. He is also able to switch contexts and support customers when need be. Christophe is a great fit for an early /mid-stage technology company that needs an experienced product owner.
Fred Plais Platform.sh CEO (view on Malt.com)
- A 2 minutes video pitch of Blackfire.
- A complete demo of Blackfire as it existed in 2020, given live during the PHP fwdays online conference.
From its inception in 2014 to its acquisition and integration in 2022, I supported the design, building, shipping, and marketing of the profiler in the PHP market. After spinning off in 2018 from SensioLabs, we helped expand into new markets including Python, Go, and Ruby.
Based on community feedback, market studies and strategic partnerships, we turned Blackfire from a profiling tool into an Application Performance Monitoring tool, with one-of-a-kind capabilities to both warn website owners when performance would degrade AND provide in-depth and actionable insights to fix issues.
Over its lifespan and yet today, Blackfire.io became the reference profiling utility in the PHP market, deprecating legacy and Open Source tools.
